CUEVAS DEL DRACH

The Cuevas del Drach are four large caves located on the southeast coast of Mallorca, in Porto Cristo, an old fishermen’s refuge in the municipality of Manacor.

The caves extend to a depth of 25 metres, reaching a length of 1.2 kilometres.

The visit lasts around an hour and takes around 1,200 metres through galleries adorned with thousands of stalactites and stalagmites.

Inside the caves you will see several lakes, such as Lake Martel, one of the largest underground lakes in the world, 117 metres long, 30 metres wide and between 4 and 12 metres deep.

This amazing natural wonder is not to be missed.

HAMS CAVES

The Hams Caves, like the Drach Caves, are a system of caves located on the southeast coast of Mallorca, in Porto Cristo.

Recognised worldwide for their peculiar formations in the shape of fishhooks, «hams» in Catalan, they were discovered by Pedro Caldentey in 1905, and were the first caves to be opened to the public in Spain, in 1910, with an electrical installation that was already very advanced for its time.

The Hams caves are one of Mallorca’s main attractions. On the guided tour you can learn about the history of the island, its first inhabitants, the formation and discovery of the Hams Caves.
